Alberta Fly Fishing ~ Crowsnest Café & Fly Shop

Your Alberta Fly Fishing Destination!

Guiding Flyfishing in the Southern Canadian Rockies since 1988, our local guiding company Alberta Fly-Fishing Adventures will lead you thru our scenic rivers and streams. Our neighbourhood includes the Oldman/Livingstone, Crowsnest, Castle and Waterton river headwaters, with too many smaller streams and tributaries to mention. We are surrounded by vast and diverse wild trout fisheries, perfect for the dry flyfisherman with great nymph and streamer fishing all year round.

Whether stalking our native Cutthroats and Bulls or casting to rising Rainbows and Browns we offer an exceptional day on the water. Owner operator Alan Brice began guiding the upper Bow River in 1988, eventually discovering the incredible waters of Southern Alberta he moved to the Crowsnest Pass twenty-four years ago. His company Alberta Flyfishing Adventures continue to offer on the river Lessons, Walk and Wade and Float Trips. His early explorations benefit all who join us in this sport. Alan and his select team of guides know these waters as only locals can. They bring their knowledge of not just the technical fishing strategies and casting techniques needed for wild trout fishing, but recommendations to equipment and gear suitable for your needs. We provide extensive knowledge of daily hatches, and the sweet get away spots only local guides can offer.

We strive to protect and enhance our trout waters by participating in habitat maintenance, catch and release techniques and programs to preserve the sustainability of our fishery.

Our Lessons are centered on various casting techniques, understanding equipment use, entomology, and proper handling of your catch. Walk and Wade trips allow for stealthy hands on approach to catching any or all of the four main species of trout in our waters and extensive exploring of smaller creeks and streams. Our Float trips allow easy access to rivers in the comfort of our stable NRS and Outcast rafts, well suited for our water flows and natural mountain river formations. We provide quality fly fishing gear with our lessons and trips, as well as awesome riverside lunches. For more information on our rivers and trips please visit the Guided Flyfishing page on this site. The Crowsnest Café & Flyshop caters to the most finicky palates of trout and fishermen.
